The #marquetteasda Sustainability Committee is driven to find the most advantageous ways to make our dental community as efficient and environmentally conscious as possible. Not only that, but we strive to promote health and wellness of the student body as well - the best example of which is our annual sustainability fair, which happens around Earth Day. All in all, we strive for sustainable dentistry, conscious of the health of both dental professionals and the environment.
“The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it” – Robert Swan As dental students there is much we can do to make our community more sustainable. This committee worked to create a recycling program at the school for the plastics products that would otherwise find their ways to landfills.
Additionally, we collaborate with Crest to implement an empty floss and toothpaste container recycling program. We also participate with the Adopt a Highway program, and organize a huge Sustainable Living Fair each year where organizations and programs from around Milwaukee come to the school to promote more sustainable lifestyles.
