What is Events Committee?

Marquette ASDA’s Events Committee is in charge or brainstorming and holding fun events for our members to enjoy throughout the year as well as to raise money for our chapter and for donating to local charities. Their role is to provide an outlet from the rigorous curriculum so students can enjoy engaging with fellow classmates and members of the Marquette Dental community! From Family Feud to Mr. Molar, from Stache Bash to The Amazing Dental Race, the Events Committee never fails to raise school spirit and bring smiles to everyone’s faces.

As a reincarnation of the “Thriller at Miller” event that was held pre-COVID, our Students vs. Faculty Softball Showdown faces students and staff head-to-head in a friendly game of softball! This event is held each July at a local Milwaukee Park complete with food, beverages, desserts, and, of course, SOFTBALL!

As one of our most popular events, Mr. Molar is a male pageant-style competition where one student from each class competes for the title of “Mr. Molar”! This year, D4 Elliot Shambeau took home the crown! Mr. Molar is held at the end of March/early April each year and is a great way to bring the Marquette School of Dentistry community together for jokes, laughs, and a whole lot of fun!

As a spinoff of The Amazing Race, The Amazing DENTAL Race serves as an opportunity for the new D1s to become more acquainted to MUSoD and Marquette’s main campus, meet and interact with their new classmates, and socialize with students from other classes. The Amazing Dental Race takes place in September each year during Marquette ASDA’s Fever Week!
